]]>The Oktoberfest is held the second Friday and Saturday in October each year. The first two years the Oktoberfest was held in the Armory in Crossville. Since then the event as been held at the Knight's property on Highway 70 three mile east of downtown. When it was first held there, the festival was held totally inside temporary tents. Over the years, permanent building have been constructed. Even now, temporary tents are brought in to supplement the space of the permanant buildings.
The ASES National Solar Tour is the world's largest grassroots solar event. This event offers you the opportunity to tour innovative green homes and buildings to see how you can use solar energy, energy efficiency, and other sustainable technologies to reduce monthly utility bills and help tackle climate change. More than 160,000 participants will visit some 5,500 buildings in 3,200 communities across the U.S.
See the sun powering 4 Cumberland County Solar Sites that you can visit between (Central Time) 1pm and 5pm on Saturday, October 2nd. CSEA people will be on hand to demonstrate the solar photovoltaic system and answer questions.

Family Day a festival in the The Burke Community held on the Greenberry Wilson farm. With games for the children, hayrides, tours of the historic home on the farm, watermelon, corn. food donated by families, businesses, individuals, and churches, live music, mule rides, antique cars, and an end-of-the-evening incredible fireworks display.
Greenberry Wilson farm holds the distinction of having the oldest home in Cumberland County that was constructed in 1797. It is listed on the National Regist...er of Historic Places.

Cumberland County Fair Aug 30- Sept 4 2010 
The annual Cumberland County Fair is an award winning fair and midway with pageants, contests, live music, food, and livestock/best in show judging contests. The 2010 Fair will be held August 30th thru September 4th at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds. For more information call 484-9454.
