Wind Energy Seminar Blows into Town July 22
The TN Wind Working Group will present a wind energy seminar 9am to noon, Wed. July 22 in the community room of the Cumberland County Roane State Campus. This timely in-depth presentation of the potential of wind power on the Cumberland Plateau will feature presenters from TVA, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, the State of TN, and USDA.

Come to the Wind Energy Seminar and learn whether you can use wind energy for your home or business. This question is being asked across the country as more people look for affordable and reliable sources of electricity.

The wind energy seminar on July 22 covers both residential and commercial wind energy applications. Learn whether wind energy is practical for your home or business. You will find the answers to such questions as the size wind turbine you will need, the costs of a wind system and available financing, sources of installation and support, and what kind of performance you can expect. Seminar speakers will discuss how to determine if there is enough wind on a site and how to choose the best system for your site.

Veolia, N.A., which operates the City of Crossville wastewater treatment facility, has expressed interest in installing a wind turbine in Crossville. The seminar will use Veolia as a teaching example to walk through the decisions that anyone, commercial or residential, has to make to build a wind energy project.

In the afternoon, a trip has been arranged to visit the installed small wind turbines at the Sportsman's Wildlife Foundation Lodge.

This seminar is free and open to the community. The Roane State Cumberland Campus is located just north of the I-40 Genesis Rd. Exit. Mark you calendar today so that you do not miss this opportunity to learn how wind power can benefit you and our community.
